Print of the Day - Limited Editions

About Print of the Day

Contemporary art, built on a lifetime of making images

Print of the Day is a UK contemporary art print brand created by digital artist and photographer Tim Pearson, producing original digital artworks as museum-quality fine-art prints in open and certified limited editions.

But the story behind it started long before Print of the Day had a name.

My fascination with images began with photography when I was seven years old. Over the decades that followed, photography became part of a much broader creative journey through screen printing, commercial print, graphic design and, eventually, digital art.

I discovered computer-based image making in the late 1990s, when the possibilities of combining traditional visual skills with digital tools were only beginning to emerge. Since then, technology has continually changed the way I work — but the fascination with creating an image that deserves to exist beyond the screen has remained much the same.

Print of the Day is where those different strands finally came together.

From digital artwork to physical print

I create contemporary digital artwork using photography, digital techniques and modern creative technology, including generative tools where they contribute to the work.

For me, however, the digital image isn't necessarily the finished object.

The print is.

An artwork changes when it leaves a screen and becomes something physical. Paper has texture. Ink has depth. Scale changes the way an image feels. A print occupies a real space and can remain there for years.

That physical transformation is an important part of Print of the Day.

Selected works are prepared specifically for professional fine-art printing and produced using museum-quality materials, including Hahnemühle fine-art papers. The aim is simple: digital artwork should be treated with the same care as any other artwork intended to be collected, displayed and enjoyed.

A new artwork every day

The name Print of the Day comes from a simple idea: art should keep moving.

New work is continually created, explored and selected, with individual artworks becoming part of an evolving collection.

That collection has two distinct sides.

Open Edition Prints make selected Print of the Day artwork accessible to a wider audience and are available through the Print of the Day online store.

Limited Edition Fine Art Prints are produced separately for collectors in strictly controlled edition sizes. These works are professionally printed on fine-art paper and accompanied by certification, creating a permanent record of the edition and the individual print.

The two collections share the same creative origin but serve different purposes: one makes the work accessible; the other preserves scarcity and provenance.

Made by Tim Pearson

Print of the Day is the work of Tim Pearson, a British photographer and digital artist with more than four decades of experience spanning photography, printing, screen printing, graphic design and digital image making.

That background shapes the way I approach the work today.

I'm interested in the meeting point between art and technology: what new tools make possible, what traditional skills still contribute, and how something created digitally can ultimately become a beautifully made physical object.

Technology changes quickly. The principles behind a good print don't.

Composition, colour, detail, materials and presentation still matter.

Built for provenance

Behind every Print of the Day artwork is something the viewer will rarely see: a structured provenance system.

Each artwork selected for the collection receives a permanent identity and is recorded within the intellectual-property catalogue maintained by Tim Pearson Holdings Ltd.

Limited editions, edition sizes and certificates can then be connected back to that original artwork.

This structure has been built deliberately. As the collection grows, the history and identity of the work should grow with it.

For a collector, that means a Print of the Day limited edition isn't simply an image given a number. It forms part of a documented chain connecting the physical print to the artwork from which it originated.

Print of the Day and Tim Pearson Holdings

Print of the Day is the art brand through which the work is presented, published and sold.

The underlying creative intellectual property is owned and managed by Tim Pearson Holdings Ltd, providing a long-term structure for the artwork, its provenance and its future use.

This separation allows Print of the Day to concentrate on what people actually come here for — discovering and collecting art — while providing a structured foundation behind the collection as it develops.

The next chapter

Print of the Day brings together more than forty years of photography, printing and image making with technologies that would have been almost unimaginable when I first picked up a camera.

And I don't see that technology as the destination.

It's another tool.

The destination is still the same thing that fascinated me in the first place:

Creating an image worth looking at — and turning it into a print worth keeping.

Welcome to Print of the Day.
